Product FAQ

What are the effects of ball mill speed on production?

The speed adjustment of the ball mill has a great impact on the production efficiency of the ball mill. The speed of the ball mill is mainly to ensure that the material and the steel ball are brought to the corresponding height and then fall down. To achieve the effect of crushing the material, generally every diameter of the ball mill has a suitable speed. If the speed of the ball mill is too fast, the steel ball and the material will stick to the cylinder, and the speed of the ball mill will cause the material and the steel ball to not be thrown up. What are the effects of the speed of the ball mill on production? Let's ask the technicians of the Xingkuang Machinery Technology Department to give us a detailed introduction.

XKJ Ball Mill

The speed of the ball mill should first consider the critical speed; secondly, consider the influence of the rotation rate. The general rule is that it is proportional to the 2.5th power of the cylinder diameter. The length of the cylinder determines the particle size characteristics of the grinding material (that is, the probability and time of the medium impact), which must be determined through the grinding experiment.

In actual production, the working speed of the ball mill has a wide range of selection. The general rule is that the speed of the rod mill is about 10% lower than that of the ball mill of the same specification, and in the ball mill, the working speed of the small diameter ball mill is higher than that of the large diameter ball mill; the working speed of the mill used for coarse grinding is higher than that of the fine mill. At the same time, when determining the optimal speed of the mill, the productivity of the mill and the saving of energy consumption and steel consumption should be taken into account.

Practice has proved that: from the perspective of improving the unit volume productivity of the mill, the optimal speed rate is 76% to 88%, and from the perspective of saving energy consumption and steel consumption, the optimal speed rate should be 65% to 76%. Moreover, appropriately reducing the speed is conducive to improving the productivity per unit energy consumption.

Relationship between filling rate and speed rate: The higher the filling rate of the ball mill, the higher the speed rate required to reach the maximum value of useful power. As the speed rate increases to a certain extent, the steel balls change from falling to throwing, but the transition point varies with the filling rate. The higher the filling rate, the higher the speed rate entering the throwing state.
