Common models and application analysis of gold mine ball mills

Gold ball mill is the core equipment of gold beneficiation process, and its model selection directly affects the grinding efficiency and beneficiation cost. According to the ore processing capacity, particle size requirements and process characteristics, the commonly used equipment can be divided into the following categories:

1. Classification by structure type


Grate ball mill

It is widely used in the coarse grinding stage. The discharge end is equipped with a grate plate. The forced discharge speed is 20%-30% faster than the overflow type, which effectively avoids over-crushing of the ore. Typical models include:


MQGg series: such as MQGg 3231 (processing capacity 14~180t/h), MQGg 3645 (115~170t/h), suitable for medium-sized mines with a daily processing capacity of 40-200 tons;


Ф3600×8500: The hourly production range is 45-386t/h, which is suitable for large-scale beneficiation plants.


Overflow ball mill

Applicable to the fine grinding stage, continuous operation is achieved through slurry self-flow, typical models include:

MQYg series: such as MQYg 3245 (95-110t/h), the discharge particle size can be finely adjusted to 0.074mm;

Wet overflow type: suitable for ore with high mud content, infrastructure investment is 15%-20% less than that of the grid type.


2. Classification by processing capacity

Large equipment

Ф4500×6400: ball loading capacity of 216t, motor power of 2500kW, maximum output of 386t per hour, suitable for mines with an annual processing capacity of more than 500,000 tons;

MQGg 3645: feed particle size ≤25mm, suitable for three-stage grinding process.


Medium-sized equipment

MQGg 3245: installed power 380kW, processing capacity 95-110t/h, energy consumption is 18%-25% lower than traditional equipment;

Ф4000×6700: drum speed 14.4r/min, suitable for composite gold mines with high copper and sulfur impurities.


Small equipment

MQGg1212: drum volume 1.2m³, suitable for concentrators with daily processing capacity below 20 tons, saving more than 40% of infrastructure costs;

1830 type: the discharge particle size is adjustable from 0.074 to 0.4mm, suitable for mining technical transformation projects.

3. Key parameters for selection

Processing capacity matching: For example, if the demand is 100 tons per hour, the Ф3600×8500 or MQGg 3231 model is preferred;

Energy consumption control: The comprehensive power consumption of equipment equipped with TDMK motor is reduced by 12%-18%;

Particle size adjustment: By adjusting the steel ball ratio and the drum speed, accurate control of 0.074-0.4mm can be achieved.


4. Selection suggestions

Two-stage grinding process: The first stage uses a grid type (such as MQGg 3245), and the second stage uses an overflow type (such as MQYg 3245);

High-content impurity ore: Conical grid ball mill is preferred, and the pre-screening system is used to reduce the impact of clay;

Technical transformation project: Select modular equipment such as 1830 to reduce the shutdown and transformation cycle.
