The selection of ball mill is a complex process, involving a variety of factors, including ore properties, feed particle size, product particle size requirements, etc.Although traditional selection methods, such as the power consumption method, are widely used, they have certain limitations in the case of non-full-grain feeding. Therefore, it is of great significance to study and explore more scientific and reasonable selection methods to improve the production efficiency of mineral processing plants and reduce operating costs.
Existing methods of ball mill selection
Power consumption method
The power consumption method is a selection method based on Bond's theoretical formula, which determines the specifications and power of the ball mill by calculating the unit power consumption of the mill. This method requires that the new feed particle size is parallel to the product particle size distribution curve in order to use the feed F80 value and the product P80 value instead of the entire particle size distribution.
Volumetric method
The volumetric method calculates the processing capacity of the designed mill by comparing the production index of the designed mill with the actual production index of the industrial mill. This method considers factors such as the difficulty of grinding, the diameter of the mill, the type of mill, and the fineness of the product, and selects the type based on the processing capacity per unit grinding volume.
JKSimMet process simulation method
The JKSimMet process simulation method is a selection method based on the principle of material balance, which can comprehensively consider the influence of mill structure, grinding conditions, and material particle size distribution.Through the simulation software, the overall operating condition of the ore material in the grinding operation section and the system can be predicted.
Calculation based on the selection of the entire system
Considering the pre-selection screening and grinding grading into a complete system for the selection of ball mills, the influence of the lack of fine-grained grades can be avoided. The unit power consumption and required power of grinding calculated by this method are more accurate.
