Introduction to Tin Ore Dressing Technology and Equipment

Process introduction

Because the density of tin ore is larger than that of symbiotic minerals, reselection methods are generally used for tin ore dressing.However, due to the presence of various iron oxide minerals in minerals, such as magnetite, hematite, etc., these minerals cannot be well separated from tin ore by reselection or flotation. Therefore, magnetic separation or flotation operations are also used.

Crushing and screening

The raw ore is broken to 20mm, and then sieved into two particle grades of 20~4 and 4~0mm.


Pre-selection

The 20~4mm ore is pre-selected into the heavy medium cyclone, and then after a period of rod grinding, a jig is used for pre-selection. The jig tailings are sieved with a 2mm vibrating screen to remove +2mm as waste tailings, and -2mm enters the shaker for sorting.


Mixed flotation

After the jig and shaker concentrates are sharpened separately, the mixed flotation is carried out, and the mixed flotation tailings are selected by the shaker to produce qualified tin concentrates.

The mixed flotation concentrate is then finely ground for lead-zinc separation and flotation, and lead-antimony concentrate and zinc concentrate are produced separately.


Reselect

The ore mud enters the Φ300mm cyclone, overflows and then passes through the Φ125mm and Φ75mm hydrocyclone groups to remove fine mud, and the sedimentation sand is concentrated, flotation and desulfurization, and cassiterite flotation is carried out.


Production example

A tin ore processing plant adopts the floating-heavy ore processing process. After crushing the raw ore to 200mm, a closed-circuit grinding is used, and the grinding to 200 mesh accounts for 60~65%.The flotation adopts a one-coarse, two-sweep and one-fine process, and the copper-sulfur separation is ground to 0.074mm, accounting for 95%. Through one-coarse, two-sweep and one-fine, copper concentrate and sulfur concentrate are also obtained.Then a mixed flotation method is used to reselect the tailings after the sulfide is selected, and the first and second stages of bed selection are passed; a re-washing is carried out; the crude tin ore is obtained by mud selection, and the tin concentrate is finally obtained by desulfurization.
