Matters needing attention in installation and commissioning of ball mill

The ball mill is an indispensable equipment in the beneficiation plant, and it is also a crucial equipment in the construction of the entire beneficiation plant. Therefore, ensuring the stable operation of the ball mill is very important. However, before being officially put into operation, the debugging of the ball mill is a very important step, and there should be no deviation at all, otherwise it will lead to the ball mill product particle size not meeting the requirements, and even reduce the metal recovery rate. The debugging of the ball mill should be carried out by confirming whether the debugging conditions are met, running empty and under load, and checking the status of various aspects of the equipment.

1. Check if the ball mill meets the following debugging conditions

Has the ball mill equipment been fully installed according to the drawings, ensuring that all components of the equipment are in the correct positions. Require a complete record of the installation process and pass the acceptance inspection; The strength of the equipment foundation concrete and the strength of the secondary grouting concrete must meet the strength level required by the design; The PLC control system, temperature gauge, and pressure gauge of the ball mill can be reliably put into operation;


2. Inspection work before ball mill debugging

The inspection work requires meticulous attention to ensure that the equipment is in good condition. Specifically, as follows:

The fan-shaped blocks and bearing shells of the lower bearing seat should be aligned with the centerline; Correct the large and small gears according to the instructions.

The fan-shaped block of the lower bearing seat, the bottom plate of the small gear, the main gear bottom frame, and the motor bottom frame are completely grouted, and the grouting strength meets the design strength requirements.

All anchor bolts, connecting bolts, and clamping bolts of the main gear should be tightened. The fixing bolts of the large gear should be tightened according to the specified torque.

The bearing shell should be installed on the fan-shaped block of the bearing seat according to the rotation direction of the ball mill; Correct the bearing shells according to the axial guide ring; The bearing seat seal is installed correctly, and the joint is sealed with sealant.

3. Empty operation of ball mill

The motor should be run for 2 hours under the condition of empty load of the ball mill first, during which the motor rotation direction should be correct and the accident button should work normally and reliably to ensure safety.

If the motor runs normally while idling, run the reducer for another 2 hours.

4. Load test run of ball mill

According to the ratio of the ball mill, a certain amount of steel balls are added to the cylinder of the ball mill. The steel balls are added in batches, and during operation, the temperature, current, and vibration intensity of the bearings are measured. After the installation of the ball mill is completed, it begins to operate under load, adding 70% of the specified load of the grinding material and running continuously for more than 10 hours. During the process, the threaded joints of the ball mill lining should be tightened and the threaded connections should be checked frequently to prevent loosening.
